Picked this up today for $300. Alot of the blue is gone but there is no corrosion, the bore is clean and shiney and the mechanics are good. It was used, but not abused.
According to a serial number search it was manufactured in 1955. It just screams 1950's doesn't it? I'm not big on sporting shotguns, but this one caught my fancy.
I've been wanting a Model 12 for awhile. Now I own one. Sorry about the pictures. It isn't a top of the line camera and I'm not much of a photographer.
The polychoke was manufactured by Herters. I would imagine that the vented rib is also an aftermarket accesory. It's my understanding that Winchester did not put on VR's at the factory. IS this correct?
