4" stainless Python Elite. Unfired except at the factory.
I've wanted one for a while.

Very nice. I have always wanted a Colt revolver. The thing that has always stopped me is the lack of a stainless model. They all seem to be nickle. Do they make a stainless one?

Many Colt King Cobras were made from stainless steel.

I will need to keep my eyes open. So far I have only seen nickle ones for sales locally. We do not get many Cobras or Pythons through these parts though. :(

PBP,
I had great luck buying my Python on-line at Guns America. 99% blued finish - absolutely gorgeous. I'm currently looking for a stainless.
I know people who don't like to buy a piece without actually inspecting the piece, but I've had great luck both times I've done it. If you Google the person or business you're buying from and contact them directly, you can get a better feel for the deal as well as the condition of the piece.
It is a buyer-beware scenario (what isn't these days) but there are some great deals to be had as well as rarer pieces to be found.
P.S. bac1023 those are some BEAUTIFUL revolvers. Nice job on a killer collection!

I have personal aversions towards buying guns online...or anything expensive for that matter. :)

Ohhhh yeah they make a stainless... oops, they did make a stainless revolver.
If this was not someone elses post I'd post some pics.

The Python is my all time favorite revolver. Congrats on your purchase.
I saw a 6" Python at the gunshow this morning. It appeared to be high polished stainless rather than nickel but I didn't inspect it. It was tagged $1499.

The model you're looking at is stainless. Python Elites came in blue and stainless, not nickel.

If I didn't buy guns online, I wouldn't have half the collection of handguns I have.

$2400.
Its basically NIB and was never fired, according to the seller. After seeing it, I can believe it.
The Python Elites bring a big premium over most of the standard Pythons, due to the rarity.
There was just another 4" stainless Elite on GunBroker going for $2800.
All the Pythons are really climbing in value. I want a 2.5" model to add to the collection, but its hard to find them in nice shape under $1500-$2000 now.

On adversions to buying online.............90% of the handguns I own were discontinued at the time I purchased them and I was specifically looking for those models. I would wait a lifetime scouring the scant few gun/pawn shops in my little town waiting for those models to someday appear. Thank goodness for gunbroker and auctionarms.

Pride of ownership will linger far longer than the sting of a high price paid.

Yeah, I couldn't have found half my collection without going online. I spent a boat load of money online over the last few years.

I will gladly settle for my collection staying modest in size and stick to buying only guns I can hold in my hands first. I will have to hope for the best Python wise. Like I said we do not see many of them up here and when they do come in they tend to disappear very fast. :)

Its not just the size of the collection, its what is in it. You'll never find the best stuff waiting for it to show up.
These days, I only buy from an online auction or a custom builder. I've long since had all the everyday stuff I want.

Beautiful Python Elite! When are you going to take it out and shoot it? ;)
PlayboyPenguin -- As others have noted, Colt made stainless Pythons. The "Ultimate Stainless" finish is so finely polished that it is often mistaken for nickel. If I'm not mistaken, Colt stopped making nickel Pythons when they started using the Ultimate Stainless finish. Later, Colt would also sometimes use more of a matte stainless finish.

Absolutely beautiful.
I want one or two... or six myself.
I've only had the chance to shoot two Pythons, and both were pretty beat up. Those look in fantastic shape!

For what it's worth, and I'm not saying that anything nefarious is afoot here, but I'd like to point out that while using both Firefox and Chrome browsers my AVG antivirus picks up a threat on this file name:

Just sayin'.
