Smilies

I have tried to use the smilies as instructed in the Smilies Legend shown when posting a new thread or reply to an existing one. It did not work. Example: I wanted to show a winking smilie, so per instructions I typed ;]

Smilie did not show. Any sugustions would be helpful. Thanks.
