I was originally looking at a CZ mini Bobwhite, but after reading reports of them, I'm scared crapless.
I also saw a Stevens 512 Goldwing in .410 that i liked. Is this a better option, or are the rumors of the CZ shotguns exaggerated?

I, also, was quite interested in a .410 CZ/Turkish gun, and also was put off by reported problems....Turkish guns can be the best, or be quite shabby, depending on who makes them, and what price-point the importer wants to go with....judging by the reports, I'd say the CZ guns are lower tier....check out the Yildiz .410 post....if you can live with one shot, I couldn't imagine a finer all-day-stalking gun....

Ok, so what about this:
The reason i was interested in the Cz Bobwhite is its low weight, thanks to its gauge-scaled receiver.
Can any other .410 double gun match its 5.2lbs with 26" barrels? I would be willing to pay significantly more for a shotgun with the same specs, that I could be more confident in. I would also consider an Over / Under format instead of Side by Side.
Even the 20" Stoeger Coach gun is over a pound heavier. :(

You nailed it, trying to find a properly scaled .410.....there are some lovely older doubles out there, smaller than the CZ, but you will pay more than significantly for them....working guns are just as rare....old IJ's and H&R's, the Mossberg pump (unfortunately lengthened for 3", but much better scale than the 870)....the Yildiz....more delux repeater would be the M42, very costly....about 7-8yrs back, Tristar was importing what I believe was a very nice little Italian SxS, which would be the one I'd tell you to look out for....it was very affordable at the time.....also, there are other Turkish double importers, selling higher tier goods....you should also check them out....some of those guys go over there and hand-pick.....
PS....just looking at the Yildiz site, they list their SxS .410's at 2.2kg/4.85lbs....but keep in mind weight will vary with wood, no matter whose specs say what....

I do have a Mossberg 500E in .410 (6.25lbs) I just got back from a hunting trip, and I carried it for almost 6 hours today.
How do i go about getting one of the shotguns you linked to? Iv never heard of that brand before.

Academy Sports is the sole importer of Yildiz guns, and I don't know if they're importing any of the nicer SxS's....also, you'd need to have an Academy Sports store, which you probably don't....the Yildiz line is warranted by Briley for 3yrs, excluding wood, which I mentioned in the thread linked in my first reply...also, at the weight they list, I wonder if the receiver is steel....
My Mossberg 505 weighs 5.25lbs, 20" Mod, but the 12"LOP probably would require a longer stock for many shooters....short stocks don't bother me, I just square up to the target.
The Tristar gun I mentioned was the 411, I believe.

I, also, have the little Mossberg pump with 24" bbl at a tad over six pounds. Works all the time. Easy to carry. And easy on the wallet.
