Im looking for a pistol grip for my new 870 desert tac recon. Trying to decide between the Hogue tamer grip and the knoxx breaching grip. Who has fired both and which is better as far as comfort and recoil reduction?

I like Hogue grips....so do the Magnum pistols.
And it IS an improvement over the factory PG's, in "comfort" & recoil reduction.
The Breachersgrip is a vast improvement over the Hogue Tamer; can shoot with it 'til you freak over how many shells you're going thru  without getting the Sore-Wrist Syndrome.Add one of the Hogue slip-on grips (<$10) to it for better grip, 'cause I predict you'll practice 'til your hand gets sweaty!
But please consider this before you buy:
In MY Humble Opinion....the Knoxx SpecOps Folder is a Breachersgrip with a foldable, lock-in-place shoulder "stock" .I believe, after using all the Knoxx shotgun variations, it is simply the best bargain.
I predict there will be times that you'll wish you had gotten it instead;the best of both worlds.

You might want to also check out the Pachmayr Vindicator Grip. I have one on my maverick 88. It is actually pretty comfortable to shoot.
