I have an 870 with a 21" barrel. I love that shotgun. Of all my guns, it's the one I absolutely have to have. Well, if I had to repurchase all of my guns, I would buy that one first at least. I wanted to buy another 870, but they had some BS internal lock so I bought a Mossberg instead. It's okay, I'd still like another lock-free 870 though.

That's a good video, I can't believe the barrel didn't blow. They should have at least stuck a pumpkin or something in front of it!

The Remington 870 is one tough shotgun! Interesting video, it would have been a shame if that exercise had ruined a nice Wingmaster.

Yikes.

A testiment to the toughness of the 870 design. That being said, I won't be trying that with my 870.

Dont count on it happening that way all the time with any gun, even an 870.

I have seen a barrel ripped open by a simple wad stuck in a barrel, (luckily, no one was hurt)...I can't imagine a loaded shell stuck not blowing that piece to smithereens....wow

Jeff, that feller seems to have bit of a bulge there... duct tape may fix it though...

That not a bulge it a new reducing recoil system...it allows the gases to escape

Not new.
Parker did the 20-12 challenge to show the quality of their steel many years ago.

The gun in that picture ias what I like to call a Fudd Compensator. It was developed by Elmer Fudd and the good people at Cutts....

I watched a barrel on a Superposed split wide open from a stuck wad and I own a Parker VHE with a bulge just in front of the chamber from a loose base wad from the infamous "new" AA hulls.

I would never count on a barrel surviving that test and neither did the tester....he was behind a wall when that 870 was fired.

Goes to show the 870's are one tough shotgun...when the wife and I go shooting we always take 2 ammo carry cases one with the 12's and another with the 20's...just to be sure.

LOL, I wonder if he sold it on GB the next day. I wanted to see him do it two or three more times. What the heck, He was planning on it blowing anyway and I dont think I would want to use that barrel again and would destroy it no matter how good it looked.
Jeff, That guy crapped his pants so bad it got on his face.;)

I am calling BS on that video. No way even an 870 as much as I love them can stand up to that. :D I think I will try it with my 870. What size shell do I need with a 16GA, a 28GA? Maybe I will also try it with my 1100. Wonder if it will stand up to it like the 870 since they are the same barrel.

How do you mix up the 20 and 12 ammo? First off my factory 20ga stuff is ALWAYS yellow no matter the brand and my 12ga ammo is red, burgundy or black...
Than there is the feel in my fingers... if that don't tell you something is wrong...

ROFL, Thats funny!:D Could you imagine his look when he touched one off on a duck? The duck gave him the birdie and kept on flying.

PT111, I dont think anyone in his right mind would want to try it with a perfectly good gun.

Is that what they mean when they say "back bored, Open choke"?
