I want to build the "ultimate shotgun" yes yes I know it might seem silly but it doesnt seem like a bad idea. Heres what I have come up with Mossberg 835(3 1/2 Ultra Mag) with the 24" non rifled slug barrel(avalible from Mossberg.com), a two round extension, the Knoxx recoil reduction stock, and heres the hard part does anyone know if the 835 trigger assembly is the same as the 500 trigger assembly? If so I will be replacing the "stock" plastic trigger assembly with an aluminum alloy one(from a 500A1). The result a super mag pump gun with 7 or 8 magazine capacity that can take any 12 gauge round you can find, with a pistol grip and ajustable stock. Any advice/opinons would be appreciated.

I may be wrong but I think you want the 590A1 trigger group... From what I am reading the 500, 535 and 835 are the same trigger group.

My ultimate shotgun would be a Purdey SxS or a Fabbri O/U......

but then, mine would be for quail......:D

I'd like a Remington 870 Wingmaster with a 22" barrel and a mag extension that perfectly matches the bluing on the barrel and receiver. A gorgeous, slick and functional pump shotgun with 6+1 capacity that could cover home defense, SHTF, and hunting as well. Yes, I realize the 22" barrel is less than ideal for bird hunting, but I think I could make it work as a "do it all" shotgun.

I'd take it in 12, 16 or 20 gauge.
