I have had a couple of Mavericks in the past and I have always thought that they are a great deal. Recently I decided that I wanted a low cost, reliable shotgun to leave in the corner or under the bed for HD and knock around duty, so I have been on the lookout for a new Maverick in the local gunstores.

I was looking for a 20" model, but coming home from vacation yesterday I picked up this 18" 5 shot model instead. So far I'm very pleased with my decision. :)

Cost was $230 OTD including the 6 shot sidesaddle that I bought to go with it.

I just picked up the same one. Can you tell me how you install the side saddle? I see no screws on the side, just rivets. Does it need to be disassembled? Just curious. I may go with just the buttstock sleeve. Thanx.

If it's like the Mossy 500--and I assume it is-- you must remove the screw that holds the extractor against the inside of the receiver and the pin that holds the trigger group and replace them with a special pin and bolt that allows you to mount a side saddle or side mount for a scope.

Okay I looked at Tacstars website and downloaded the instructions, looks easy enough.
