View Full Version : My neihbor is wondering how much his old remington 1100 is worth

I called Remington and the lady on the phone said the gun was made in 1970 but couldn't estimate it's worth...it's a Remington 1100....it's an 8 out of 10 condition. He is in a crunch for money due to high gas prices/cost of living and having to let a few things go. Just wondering if I could get opinions on what it may be worth. Not much i'm sure.

sandman, depends on the gauge and condition, and the area where you are. around here a 12 ga will go in the $300-450 range 20 ga slightly higher, 16ga same or less, 28 or 410 higher. this is only a ballpark condition is everything could be 50-100 higher or lower on condition alone. I have been looking for a 16ga for my grandson if it is, have him pm me or e-mail me when he settles on a price.

it's a 12 gauge...it's an 8 out of 10 condition i'd say...from Northwest Louisiana area....He can get quotes locally if he takes it to some gun shops...i was just hoping to get a few ideas here for him...if it was a 16 gauge i'd buy it for my kids ! ha ha

1970's means it probably doesn't have screw in changeable chokes - so that would drop the value around here to maybe $ 200 ( depending on how its choked ). If it has screw in chokes in it - its $ 250 - $350 out here ( assuming its a 28" barrel ).

Even without the screw in chokes around here it would go for $325 to $400 if it has nice wood. Some of those older guns had really nice stocks. The southern zone here is slug country so if it had a slug barrel around $375.
