I have the opportunity to purchase a Browning BAR simi-auto in 300 WinMag. It is equipt with a Pentax 3x9 Light Seeker. What about this scope? It was purchased from an estate by a major used firearm dealer. He has no idea about the use this firearm has gone through. It is about twenty years old.

I've heard rumors that the Lightseeker was at one time being made for Pentax by Burris. The same rumors say that production has shifted to another OEM. I have no personal experience with them so I can't rate the scope. I have to wonder how even premium 20y/o optics compare to todays.
FYI, they also have a Gameseeker line of budget scopes. Nothing special but not horrible for less than $100.

The LightSeeker is the same scope sold as the Burris FullField II. It was made by Pentax. It is a good (notice I did not say very good or great) scope.

The turett is closer to the front? Is there a reason for this? Charlie
