I've been pondering an idea for a side mount system lately and was wondering what everybody's opinion would be, so let's hear it :) What would you rather have as a side-mount option on your HD shotgun? Or any other shotgun that you'd like to mount a light or laser or anything else on? Side mount meaning where a side saddle would sit.

No feedback? Just people who don't like 'tacticool' stuff? lol

THe down side is that you would have a very large blind spot on the right side of the shotgun.:(

How do you mean?
Consider that you're HD shotgun has a pistol grip. Wouldn't a laser or flashlight mount be pretty useful for fast target acquisition? Wouldn't have to worry about any kind of blind spot.

Forget the PG (unless it's got a full stock as well) and about the only thing I'd be thinking about putting on a mount would be a flashlight, and I'd probably go for the Surefire forend in that case. My 870 has a bead, an extension, a sidesaddle, and that's it.

I'll admit, PG's aren't for everybody. I for one am very comfortable with mine and use it well for HD purposes and blow-stuff-up purposes lol I'd personally want a light there since I"m comfortable enough to aim from the hip, I would just need to see what I'm aiming at lol
This would be a much less expensive alternative to the Surefire foregrip.
