If you are asking if it's safe, I'd say yes and as far as performance, I'd say yes again but you need to confirm with range time and define your expectations. Let me know how you make out.

Be safe !!

On Polychoked guns it is suggested to set it for Improved Cylender.

Hows spring in your neck of the woods, I was a beautiful blue bird day on the Pac River today, snow on the ground, blue sky, and 50 degrees!

cylinder bore (no restriction) is the correct dia for shooting slugs, almost all police shotguns are cyl bore.

Poly chocks are kind of yes/no the old directions I have say it is OK, set choke at the least restriction. However, my bunch of old shot throwen cronies say no no no it will weaken the weld joint on the choke. Some of these old boys have forgot more about scatterguns than I will ever learn. I guess I would not shoot slugs through a poly choke.

Good Luck & Be Safe

Rifled slugs shoot best from imp. cyl. or cyl. bore. Most poly chokes can shoot slugs but I know the old mossberg ones you cant. The owners manual for the mossberg bolt action I owned said DO NOT shoot slugs out of them.I think they were called c-lect chokes but not sure. A great rifled slug for a smoothbore is the Federal Tru ball rifled slug.

Thanks Guys,
I will shoot them out of my 870 Tacticool then, and not out of my 2 hand-me-down Polychoke guns(really, one from dad, one from FIL, one from Sears, one from Monkey Wards).

I figured the 870 could handle it....My wife is moving into our new house by herself for a couple days, and I Am sending the Pump polychoke with her(we're in the "stix") I will just load her up with some 00 buck then.

Thanks.
