Not the best photo, but all these were taken in the first 90 minutes opening day in an area of less than 10 acres. Things were hot that day.

Heres a pic of the biggest deer Ive ever seen. Don't know how many points, but it had quite a few and was perfectly symmetrical. It was down in Southern WV in one of the bow-only counties. Funny thing is, it was just laying in some brush above a railroad track across the street from a gas station. It was a monster.

Jack, don't you know the .357 magnum isn't adequate for large game. Good thing I told you before you went out and did it again. :D

Got my first buck last year. Hunt almost every season but never stumbled across a buck. Wasn't really looking for one until this year when I had a little more time to hunt. Took him at 270yrds (laser ranged after shot) with the K-31 in the pic and some Hornady 165gr SST handloads. Also got four does/button bucks. Good times!!

Desertscout, How much hold over did you use on that 112yd shot and what had you set the sight on before the hunt?
I am guessin' The way I had my 9mm hand gun set up I would have needed 16-20 inches to hit it but would have never expected a kill at that distance.

I just held about 2" or so over where I wanted to hit. With the load that I use, (180 gr. bullet at 1300 fps), I have it zeroed at 75 yards which puts me around an inch high at 25, 1.5" high at 50, 3" low at 100 and 8" low at 125. 75 yards is the perfect zero distance for the hunting that I do. It pretty much eliminates the guess work out to a 100 or a little more.
Even if your 9mm was zeroed at 25 yards, you would have only had to hold 8-10" high to hit at 100 yards.
