My Dad had an AYA 10ga. double, but I'm not sure if they made the shorter coach guns. I'll do a little searching and see if I can find some info.

Well, from what I could find (or couldn't find), you're going to have to fork out some big bucks for an older 10 gauge coach gun. I found several who still make then in 12 ga., but none in 10 ga. You may be able to special order, but that will be expensive also. Maybe someone else will have better luck searching that I did. :(

There is always the option of finding a reasonably-priced 10ga double and a gunsmith.

Does anybody know of a brand that still makes or made 10 ga side by side that would go for under $800?

Ithaca made a great double barrel 10 gauge. It was called an Ithaca Hammerless double barrel. My friend still hunts with one and you might pick one up used for that price, Their hard to find by me but I have seen a few. It weighed over 10 lbs also.

I'd say your best bet is to find a reasonably priced American Arms and have the baarrels cut to the desired length.

As long as its a 10 ga sxs. I'll be fine with it.
