I am not aware of any problems with the 11-87. My wife and I each bought new ones a couple of years ago and have had no problems. We shoot trap and some sporting clays. The guns have worked just fine. If the condition is good and price is right, buy it.

I never had any problems with mine but problems that can affect any gas auto are. The gas system needing too kept clean. Don’t have to be anal but it needs to be wiped down often Also Leaving excess oil in the gun could cause failures in very cold weather. The oil gets stiff and can cause jams. Did have one problem come to think of it. It wouldn’t eject Remington copper solids, funny that wouldn’t work with its own brand of ammo. Sold it because it was just too darn pretty. Felt guilty every time I put a smudge on it. :p

Never a problem with mine. It is 12 years old and never has had an o-ring change. I keep it clean and shoot the heck out of it. I keep an extra #21 o-ring just in case but it hasn't needed one thus far.

It has been a very reliable gun. If they made a 24" barrel for it, I would buy another, but 26' is the shortest. I use it for almost everything that a shotgun is used for.

Remington 11-87 are great guns. Some will argue that they are as good or better then the 1100. As far as problems, I don’t know of any significant issues with Remington auto loaders. My opinion, if the wife likes it, get it for her!!

No problems here :). I shot it fairly heavily (for me) one semester, and it had no problems. It's been a great gun!
