Would you pay $130 for a Winchester 1200 12 gauge shotgun?

I've been wanting a 12 gauge for a while now (figuring
no gun collection should be without a 12 guage). I don't
expect to do a whole lot of bird hunting, but want to at
least have the chance if the need arises.

Anyway, I'm looking at this gun, and it looks like it's in great
shape. Given the model number, it's probably 30-40 years old.

Just wondering if you all would have any advice about purchasing.
It's full choke (I'd probably have it bored out to IC) if I buy
the gun.

I have an older 1200 which had a feed problem from the tube magazine. If loaded with 3 shells (with the plug inserted in the mag tube), when you chamber a round it may "double feed" from the magazine. There was a fix for it from Winchester but I don't know if the parts are still available.

If you plan to use it as a defensive shotgun and it doesn't exhibit the double-feed issue, remove the 3-round plug from the mag tube and try running the action with 5 shells loaded to make sure it runs smoothly.

If it's as good as you say, then the price is right. Blue Book currently lists this at $140 - $215. There are some adders depending on whether it has a vent rib and Win-Choke. Go for it !! Be safe!!!
