also would just the cheesy holster they give you with a springer work for ipsc?

when I was Shooting ISPC, I carried 6 spares ,and for the holster, if it covers the trigger it will work most times.

The maximum round count on an IPSC course is 32 rounds. Keep in mind you want more than that so you can manage your reloads as well as recover from a mag failure.

I carry 6 on my belt plus a "barney mag" in my back pocket plus the mag I'll load at the start. I use 8rds mags. Mags are cheap compared to match fees and travel costs. I try to have enough mags to load up for the entire match without having to reuse a mag. One muddy or sandy match can have mags unusable until cleaned. No one has ever lost a match because they had to much ammo or to many good mags.

When I have shot Single Stack, I carry four 8-rounders on the belt, and the stoked-up barney mag in my hip pocket. 7-rounders are going to cause much grief, even with 8-round arrays.
