454 Cas has a huge case, not suitable for fast powders like HP38 or Titegroup.

There's lots of data for 45 Colt using HP38 or Titegroup, that's the way to go - just use the 45 brass in 454 Cas chamber.

My favorite load for many years was 8.0gr of Winchester 231, which is the same powder as HP38, under 255gr. SWCs. I switched to Trail Boss nowadays.

If you have to use the 454 brass, I would use the 45 Colt loads, and pad the empty space with corn-meal or Puff-lon.

Not quite on-topic: my light load for 454 is 26 grains of Enforcer under 255gr jacketed bullets. The fireball is spectacular, and the recoil is mild (well... comparatively)

Who makes Enforcer? What fps do you get with this lite load? How's the group.I'm using win 296 32 grain,250 jph from Hornady and am only getting 2" groups at 50 yards.1600 fps(From a rest)I'm told this Raging Bull should do better!

314 - the Enforcer powder is made in Belgium and marketed by Ramshot. I bought a bunch of it a couple of years ago, when Graf's was selling it at ~$8/pound.

It was advertised as being a ballistic clone of Accurate #9, which was (and still is) my favorite 357/44 mag powder.

I could never equal the velocities I got from #9 with Enforcer, so I use the Enforcer for 454 light loads only nowadays.
I did not chrono the 454 Enforcer load as yet, but it is accurate.
My heavy load is same as yours, by the way. 296 does not take kindly to downloading the charges, that's where the Enforcer is useful for me.
