Hey everyone. I have been thinking about buying one of these. I have a remington 870 super mag now that has a field barrel and fully rifled deer barrel. I want to get a semi auto to have some fun and the 930 SPX looks like it. I have a question about it though. Would it be accurate enough to hunt deer with shooting rifled slugs? Also if I want to take it out and shoot non competion skeet or maybe do some rabbit hunting, would it work at a shorter range? I could always take the 870 but am wondering if the 930 could still be used to do this. I would love to just shoot the 930 to plink but I would also like to make some more use out of it. Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help.

You can get a rifled matte 24" barrel for the 930 or just use the standard SPX barrel. I'm going to try it this fall if I can actualy get out hunting.

I have taken my SPX out for use on sporting clays....

The lack of choke tubes on this gun is a handicap...

The current barrel is "cylinder" bore, and realistically it is good to about 30yards MAX.

I have put my 28" 930 field barrel on the SPX and tried to do some "Tom Knapp style" shooting.... let's just say, Tom has no fears of me taking his job away from him. :D

It is a LOT of fun "trying" to break hand tossed clays, the best I can do is 4 or 5, depending on who's counting....

Haha thanks for the reply. I will probably buy it and just end up putting a field barrel on it down the road.
