What shotgun load does the US military use in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, besides breaching rounds? The name of the manufacturer doesn't matter, but I'd like to know "00-buck," or "1oz slugs," or whatever. I put in a FoI request, and have never received anything back. Any of you know for sure?

I work as an armed gaurd for the department of the army and we have a few mossberg 500's with 2 3/4'' 00buck rounds. I belive all of our ammo and small arms is the same as what standard army infantry uses.

When I was with the Marine security force we used 7 1/2 chilled shot, 00 buck and slugs.

We've been using Winchester SuperX 2 3/4" 00buck 9 Pellets in our Mossy 500's here in Samarra, Iraq for the past 15 months now. I'm pretty sure we used the same ammo last time I was here and in Afghanistan also.
