View Full Version : Who makes the "undersized" sizing dies?

I read a thread somewhere that discussed resizing dies that were, something like .001 smaller than typical resizing dies, but I can't remember who made them. I thought it might have been Brownells but can't find the listing if it is them.

I know one of you all must know what I'm talking about...could you provide me a link?

Any thoughts on how these dies really work. The concept seems great, but I'm wondering if there is any downside. I'll be using it for 10mm.

Thanks.

Lee makes the die. EGW retails them with mod.

Small base dies are what you are looking for.

I’ve got some of the EGW dies from the link above. They help prevent bullet setback and work great!

Small base dies are a good idea for some lever actions and autoloaders.

Small base dies are designed for reloading rifle cartridges for use in semi-auto rifles, to increase reliability. I am dubious as to their utility.

I bought a set of Lachmiller small-base dies for 270Win a few decades ago, it seemed like a good idea at the time, as I was mainly reloading range brass.

None are made for pistol brass, AFAIK.
