View Full Version : Stevens 311 SxS ?

A friend has a Stevens 311 with 20" barrels. I've looked up parts etc. and have found that their are "A","C","D","E", models of the basic "311", with (or without) series letters also. How do you tell the difference?
Example: 311C or a 311C series F etc.
Any help would be of great help, as there is about 11 different combos.
Does this deal with date codes? (of which I do have)

Most of the parts are the same. The first of the 311s was the 311A and evolved eventually through 311H, the 3" model, and the last model. Check the various models and you will probably find that most of them have the same basic parts.

I have a 20ga 311E that has "3 inch proof tested" stamped on the barrels. The model number is on the side of the action and has the E suffix.

I can't recall which model was first chambered for 3" loads. The schematics indicate that most parts are the same in the series. Go to Numrich Gun Parts and compare.
