I keep a couple of pistol gripped Mossbergs around. Simple, cheap and reliable....what more do you need?

Great gun!!!, my opinion though, take off the pistol grip only stock and replace it with a pistol grip with a folding cop stock, that way it is just as compact but you have the option to shoulder it as well (just my 2 cents).

Its not quite as compact. With the copstock folded it is about 2" taller and 1.5" wider, and a little longer. But its close. Well worth the stability on accurate shot placement. Almost done with mine, so be it a 870 (my mossie just seems sloppy compared to all of my 870s, 1 being over 15 years old). Have the mossberg breacher barrel on a old 870 express, come to think of it, this is my 14 yr old birthday present... so this is the 15 year old gun, and copstock, still waiting on the vangs 1 shot extension. The factory 2 shot extension hits the breacher attachment piece.

Just out of curiosity, other than the pistol grip, how is the JIC different than the regular mossberg 500? Thanks in advance

It comes in a waterproof-floating case, with a bunch of survival goodies, which differ slightly from model to model I think

Did Knoxx ever fix the CopStock issue where it bites your thumb knuckle? My friend has one and...ouch.

I have the SpecOps...had to put drop spacers on to re-align for a halfway decent cheek weld.

As long as you keep your face 3" from behind the reciever and your hand 1/4" below the little triangle piece you will be in good shape. Dont follow either and you can have a host of injuries.

I just bought a Mossberg J.I.C. Haven't fired it yet. I'm waiting on a Knoxx BreachersGrip that I ordered so I don't mess up my wrist. They're advertised as reducing felt recoil by 50%. Stay tuned. Oh yeah, the pump action is very smooth. The gun weighs about 7 lbs.
