View Full Version : My $25 Shotgun
September 18, 2007, 01:05 PM
Some girl came into that shop the other day with an old springfield model 67 for sale. She looked hard up for money to say the least. After running the numbers to make sure it wasn't stolen i offered $25 bucks not really wanting it.
She took the money.
Here it is after i chopped the barrel down to 18.5 and cleaned the crap out of it.

Is that a Savage? If it is that was my first and most love shootgun.
It was very slick light and fed me lots of dove quail and rabbits.
Boy do I wish I still had her..............

Yeah its a savage/stevens/springfield. They are all the same shotgun. IT is pretty slick, all it needed with a good cleaning and a healthy dose of breakfree.

Rocks for guns - sweeeeeeet! "Got any more sweetie...?" heh!

I dunno, $25 is a lot of store brand soup or tomato sauce and spaghetti. Or cheese and bread. I'm a college student, I guess I'm okay with eating the same thing over and over again.
Kudos on the gun.

If I had some way to check serial numbers, I would have a lot of odd old guns. I swear ever weirdo between here and Chicago has tried to sell me a gun at some point.

I've got the same gun but mine is a 67D, I don't know what the D is for. Mine has a poly-choke. I bought it slightly used about 40 years ago for $40, shot tons of skeet, Pheasant, rabbit squirell, & deer, shot a big doe last year with it. Never had a problem with it.

Bill, any police officer will run tne humbers for you. BUT, if it comes back hot, it will be confiscated. He may even need to to know who you got it from. Pretnear every family has a cop in it. Use them.
I am a retired detective and have friends that will run the numbers for me.

Try going to your states law enforcement website, i know FL on the FDLE website allows you to run numbers.
