Does anyone know what happened to the Knoxx pump shotgun conversion? They used to have something (Sidewinder, I think it was called) that you could convert your 500/870 to accept a proprietary box (6 rounds) or drum (10 rounds) mag.
I was just on their site and I don't see it. What happened to it?

Either that or many of them didn't work (*cough*). PM me if you want to know.
Great company Knoxx is, though.

The product was discontinued because the parts suppliers couldn't maintain the tolerances.
Here is the Knoxx news release: (http://www.Knoxx.com/NewStyleKnoxx/Company/News.htm)
"Sidewinder Discontinued - After several months of discussion and debate, we have decided to discontinue the Sidewinder System as a Knoxx Product. We are unable to find a vendor that can consistently provide us with parts made to specifications and we will not sell a product that doesn't function properly or reliably. The units we have sold passed rigorous testing and have all met our high standards.
While we regret the necessity of this action, we are confident that it is the correct one..."

Well, THAT, and I just cant see how this item can sustain long term sales.. The thing was expenisve, and the utility was more for fun I think. I think what happened was that they saturated the market and there wasnt enough profit in it to continue trying to make and sell more..

I had a Sidewinder for my 590. It worked as advertised, no problems whatsoever there. The issue, though, was its size. My arms ain't the longest in the world, and having to bend my shuckin' elbow even that little bit more was too much. Wasn't ergonomic for me. That, and it added a couple pounds. Turned that 590 from a whippet into a slug.
