Lets say you are in a situation to justifiably fire your weapon at a perpetrator. How many shots would you fire if you had a good clear shot at the target?
An easy answer would be to say "until the perpetrator is no longer a threat", however, in such a situation I dont believe you will have much time to decide. You will simply fire your weapon a certain number of times that you have either decided beforehand or at that moment in time.
Personally, I believe I would fire at least 3 rounds and possibly more.

For the thousand and first time, SITUATIONS ARE DYNAMIC. Why is there a poll on this thread????

Most likely, when the smoke clears, you won't have any idea how many shots you fired.

I've heard stories of cops saying they fired 3 or 4 rounds when they emptied an entire magazine.

This poll is silly. You DO fire until the threat is not a threat. Rinse and repeat if neccessary. Carry a reload.
Better yet, avoid the fight if possible. Running is an acceptable strategy when appropriate.

None of the above. I intend to fire as many rounds as it takes to win.

Are you actively trying to post a guaranteed-to-be-locked thread?
If so, please go elsewhere. And stay there.
If not, please give some thought to your posts, because if you don't, you may not be around much longer.
While you're at it, see Captain Charlie's sig line. And give it some serious thought.
Adult subject matter, discussed in an adult fashion. Get it?

Yup. That's pretty much it, I think. Shoot till they're not a threat, whether that means they fall or flee.
Silly poll.
