I just picked up a 2nd hand weaver 301 mount for a Blackhawk with no instructions. It consists of 3 pieces - the mount with adjustable barrel ring, a screw, and a round "bushing" that is about 1/4 inch in diameter and 1/4 inch long. It is that bushing thing that has me stumped. Does anyone know where it goes?

I have a Weaver mount that I used on a Single Six for my accuracy testing - the bushing is a spacer that I believe rests on the top of the frame and prevents any looseness when everything is tightened down. It's been a while since I had the mount on the Single Six. I tried to find the directions but no luck. Surely the Blackhawk would be use the bushing the same way.

Put one on my SBH. On mine the bushing went where the rear sight screw goes.

Indeed! I looked at my Single Six mount again and the bushing does fit in the mount right where the sight screw goes. Thanks for the reminder, just in case I want to use it again. Like I said it was a while ago when I had it on there and I have slept a few times since then!
