auto disk issue

OK this is a small prob, but want you guys input. I just got a new auto disk for my 9mm loading, I have one for every caliber, and the hopper threads on one side appear to be weak, and were not molded correctly. I realize these things are only 2$ but is there a way to strengthen that thread? I will probably never remove it once I get my charge set right, and it is holding strong now, but dont know how long that will last once I undo it a few times.
Any ideas?

The disk dispenser that came with my Pro-1000 (1986), was held to-gether with sheet-metal screws going into the plastic sides of the hopper. Newer versions come with machine screws going into threaded metal inserts in the side of the hopper. I applied J-B Weld, drilled and tapped for #10-32 threads before I finally broke down and sprang for the newer upgraded hopper....

avoid really fine powders with that auto-disc, gets between the hopper and disc

IMHO, the Pro Auto Disk is much better--brass knobs to hold the hopper in place and the elastomer bushing really tames fine powders so they don't leak. Maybe you could exchange the one you have for the upgrade.

If I understand your problem correctly, the screws don't tighten the assembly and actually slip when trying to snug things up. If that's the cae, I had the same problem. Solved it by suing teflon tape to allow the screws to grasp the plastic female end.

I have the upgrade kit and it works just fine. Cured most of the powder leak issue as well.

at $14.29 v. $32.99 it seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

You can fill the screw hole with super glue and build up the outside of the hole with super glue as well let it dry over night and re-install the screw. Worked for me. Then I bought the upgrade kit. But that repair worked well

I catually used a toothpick to give it something to grip. Problem solved.:o
