Safariland Quality

Who has experience with Safariland products, specifically their hoslters & magazine holders? Good product for the money? Thanks!

Over the years, I have owned and carried in Safariland Holsters. I love them.
I read an article that said the some time in the 70's[?] Neal Perkins bought a company that made car dash boards. He made LAMINATED HOLSTERS from that "stuff".
Recently, I bought a holster thay said was leather off E-Bay. It was laminated as I suspected it would be.

I used to use Safariland products for duty equipment. The laminated holsters did not seem to last very long. They would crack around the thumbsnap area. I would prefer to buy a holster that was made out of leather, such as Strong. They are more durable.

There is no better duty holster than a Safariland.

I have a few Safariland mag pouches and they are VERY good quality. Mine are all the Kydex variety, and I like them a lot.

I've used all kinds of duty holsters / gear, and Safariland holsters are the best that I've found. I'm not too picky on cuff cases, mag pouches, etc. But for a duty holster, I prefer a Safariland.

I use and recommend their superlative 079.

Their leather stuff is really good, the laminate stuff is brittle and will break around the thumbstrap. I love their products, though, esp the velcro duty belt system, been wearing them since 1975 when in uniform, use the paddle holster in plain clothes ( most of the time now) FM12

I carried the thigh rig 6004 model while in the desert for both a Beretta M9 and Sig M11. I thought they were great holsters. I would recommend them to anyone.

I just got a 5188 open top paddle in for my Springfield XD 45, and haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but it looks to be a great holster.

It was only $35 from holsters.com, but alot of their others are a little more pricey.

I ordered a 6378 for my S&W M&P 40 too ($45). :D

I currently use the Safariland 6280 as a duty holster. It has lasted over five years now with no negative results whatsoever.

I have also used (and am intimately familiar with) the 070, also known as the SSIII, triple retention holster. To me, it is the holster everyone else imitates. Together with good weapon retention skills, I feel very confident in the security of my duty weapon using one of these holsters.
