How do you tune a mag. Why is it important & does each firearm like or require it's own set-up?

If a magazine works properly, there's no reason to muck with it, other than to clean it.
Some folks suggest that you disassemble your magazines to clean and/or lubricate them periodically. I've only done that once or twice in 10 years and the magazines are still going strong.

I tune them with pliers when they have to have it, but like the previous post said, if yours are working fine, leave them alone.
You have to know how the round is supposed to sit in the magazine to begin with and exactly how long it should stay under the feed lips to know enough about them to be able to tune them correctly. The ones I have worked on in the past have either been dropped on concrete or just weren't set right at the factory, but those are very few and far between. Most folks sell very good nagazines these days and they alst a very long time without problems. It isn't a big deal any more like it has been on some that the lips just weren't hard enough to stay put.
