I almost bought one not too long ago with the half magazine. It looked very nice aside from the bb gun saftey. I think it would make a fine hunting/defense rifle in a very classy chambering. Its also perfect for cas and BP shooting. Good luck

I went ahead and picked up one on Saturday at Whittaker Gun's. They seem to know what I want.
Heavy octagon barrel, tube mag and it performs great. Shot it at 50 yards and had a hard time sighting it in due to high temps and humidity, shooting glasses kept fogginh up. Got 1" three shot groups.
Even got to use some reloads I made, great little rifle but not for everyone.

I own a 1894cl 32-20 that was made in the early 1990's, shoots good with lead reloads
