How much of a disadvantage is not making major in the rifle stages, in reality? IOW, should I use my AR15 or my AR10? I'm leaning toward the AR15. Thanks.

Around here, almost everyone shoots minor and uses a .223.

The offset in recoil and capacity usually means everyone shoots better with minor.

Use the AR15 and hold the AR10 for "He-man" events.

Thanks, that's what I had heard (and kinda figured).

I'm thinking about doing the 3 gun thing myself, got an AR, a plethora of handguns in various caliber, and rounding up a shotgun. what exactly do i need to be competitive? I've shot IDPA and some PPC and USPSA, so no stranger to being on the line, but what in the way of accessories will help? I found the response to rifle caliber above helpful, but what about pistols? What do I need to tote the hardware? You know, the IMPORTANT stuff?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Delta Whiskey,

Check the USPSA site and find out what division you want to shoot....that will determine the gun configurations for the most part. What division(s) are you equipped to shoot with your pistol(s)?
