Hi all,
I am new to this forum and a novice at Black Powder shooting. I have a Pietta New Army revolver in .36 cal. which I purchased in December, 2001. I purchased a container of Clean Shot FFFg the same day. I only shot the revolver once and I would like to start shooting it again. My question is concerning the Clean Shot, is the clean shot still ok to use or is it too old? It was kept in a cool dark location in my home. Thanks for any help you can give me.

your Clean Shot should be fine as long as it is sealed tight it will last a long time. I've never heard of any type of powder or substitutes going bad unless it gets moisture in it, My club shoots mostly bp with a few 777 shooters and some of the old timers are still shootin powder they got 15 years ago.

I'm still shooting some Clean Shot about that old and it works just fine. I loaded with some for this past deer season, and afterward when I went to the range to discharge, "KABOOM! Right On Target!"
Tried it again much more recently and it was still "makin' fire & smoke". :D

And if you want more, Clean Shot is now branded American Pioneer Powder.
