I just ordered a Mossberg 590A1, anyone suggest any add-ons for it?
Not much for pistol grips or collapseable stocks.

Nothing that doesnt improve your proficeincy. Evaluate your application with dry runs, it may be fine as is. Dont solve problems that dont exist. Good luck

Ammo and practice. Add-on bling would be a very distant third place.

The best accessory for a new pumpgun is wear marks on the action bars. IOW, shoot it 'as is' till you get good with it, then see if you can find things that make it better at its job.
Starting points for a serious defensive shotgun IMO are a stock short enough to fit you properly, an on-board white light source, accomodations for a sling, and spare ammo on board the gun. Formal training for the shooter should come along in there somewhere too.
But if you just want to post pictures of your creation on the net and impress your friends with how bad your "shottie" looks, just order one of everything kewl in the catalog, bolt it on and don't worry about it.
Your choice...

Thats about the going rate for the ones I have seen at local sporting goods places, I guess try a local gun shop, Walmart, Academy, Big 5, Sports authority... Places like that.

Was hoping to get a little more info such as top rated stocks, best side saddle shell carrier, best fore-ends, etc...

In stocks I think Knoxx is number one. Speedfeed is also good, but no recoil reduction.
Side saddles I like Mesa Tactical first and TacStar second.
Fore-ends I like Hogue or Pachmayr for their rubber non-slip feel. TacStar makes a vertical pistol grip that works very well too, especially if fitted with a grip sleeve.
Really it's about personal feel and what you are trying to do with the weapon. All this is subjective and others may not agree with me. YMMV
Thanks for the info/answer about the night sights TexiCali Slim.

and this Eagle sling:

Oh yeah, I threw on a heat shield as well. This took some modification to get the thing to fit over the thicker barrel, but it was easy.

What modifications to the heat shield did you make, and where did you get the sling mount?

Best Stock would be anything from www.knoxx.com. Your follow-up shots will be much quicker. Mesa tactical makes some very nice AR type collapsible stocks, but no recoil reduction. AS for side saddles I can only recommend Mesa Tactical. Their aircraft aluminum sidesaddles are only a little more expensive over the crappy plastic tacstar ones and if you somejow manage to break it, Mesa Tactical will replace it.
Then all you need is a good sling set-up. I'm still trying to figure that one out. And a Surefire forarm.

The front sling mount is from GG&G:

To get the heat shield to fit over the A1 barrel, I had to do two things:
1. Use longer screws that I had slightly bend to secure the front. This sounds bad, but believe me, it is not going anywhere. I used 2 pairs of pliers that had been taped over to prevent marring of the threads.
2. The main problem is the front sight base. The rear of the heat shield consists of a semi-circular ring that fits arount the barrel up against the receiver. I had to cut about 1/4" off each end to get the shield to slide over the FSB and up against the receiver. Use a dremel and some high heat black spray paint for touch-up.

what were the size of the screws?
Hmm..now that is a good question. This is what I did: First, I bought a new heat shield from Mossberg. It comes with 2 screws/nuts. I took these down to the screw/hardware store and just eyeballed 2 new screws that were at least 1/2" longer, plus new nuts if necessary. This presented no problems, and I just dremeled off the excess screw once the shield was on. I also used locking nuts and red loktite. If you want the specific size of the screw, maybe you can email Mossberg?
