Took a couple of pics of my Uberti 1860 and New Army and thought I'd share.

Very nice guns, I thought I was the only one who bought the Uberti Remington. How do you like that cylinder on the 1860?

I think as far as looks go, that the unfluted cylinder just looks better on the gun. Adds to the lines of the gun if you know what I mean. Practically, both work fine in the gun and so far no problems.

I find the Colt to be a very, very well balanced gun to hold compared to the New Army and there seems to be a bit extra room to hold it with large hands.

Also for the people that have that eye for detail, you can see that the front sight on the New Army has been filed down to raise the POI. And it shoots pretty well spot-on now.

I have the exact same revolvers . Picked them up the same day. I would have bought an engraved cylinder army if they had had one. Now< i wouldnt trade the one I did buy as it is extra accurate.

Mec, that does shoot well. What loads you using?

Here is a link to my web site of how my New Army shoots...http://www.bghi.us/index.php?x=1858

Nicely done web site. they are now putting those extra tall front sights on the NMA on purpose so that you can sight them in with a file.

The load in that picture is probably a .454 hornady ball with a charge of pyrodex thorown from the 28 grain spout of a flask. It could just as easily be the same charge of goex FFFg as the revolver is not tempermental and will shoot like that with a wide array of loads.

snakey light trigger and I opened the notch for visibility. But, these things are easier to shoot than a whole lot of modern handguns.
