I cant believe it. This once reliable gun is jamming every time I put 5 shots through it. I get the pump almost all the way down and it jamms. The pump wont move up or down so I have to muscle the thing and when it goes the shell flies out about 20 feet. I have cleaned every part meticulously. I cant see any visible reason. Any suggestions. Thanks.

You might try posting again in "The Smithy" because there might be some people that can help, but son't read "The Shotgun". I have a Ithaca 37 and have never had a problem with it. I completely strip mine for cleaning and polished all the moving pieces. Without seeing yours, I can't tell if a part is worn or needs replacing. Sorry. Maybe someone in "The Smithy" can help.

Thanks. I took my surefire light and re examined the chamber with a little more scrutiny and found a lump buildup of gunk which I somehow missed when "meticulously cleaning". Oops. Hey who put that there! Got er handled. :D

Isn't it amazing how some grit can sure screw something up. Glad you got it fixed.

I bought a used Model 37 that had the same problem. Polished out the chamber and the problem disappeared. Some 0000 steel wool wrapped around a drill shank works great. Polish until it looks mirror-smooth and most problems will be eliminated.
