I have searched the forum and found some threads concerning ankle holsters but I am looking for suggestions for anything comfortable. The gun stores in my area do not carry any and it is difficult to tell by looking at a pic, especially for a model not requiring a hammer spur to secure the weapon. Thanks.

Alessi's felt padding on his holster and the general design makes it a consensus first choice. There are of course many drawbacks with an ankle holster but for some people there is no better altnernative. Understand that just as belt holster requires a good belt as well as a good holster the ankle holster will require the right accessories.

Alessi is top notch....also, check out the Renegade....it is a bit more concealable since it has a soft leather holster instead of hard molded....it has a strap over the trigger guard that is a pull thru design so it doesn't matter if it has a hammer or not....

I have a S&W model 38 that i have carried for 5 years on my ankle
i tested alot of the ankle holsters and found the Apache from desantis to be
the best ankle holster around. fits good and has good padding
I wear it all day long and it doesnt bother me at all.
The Alessi's do make a nice ankle holster but are real expensive.
a friend of mine used an alessi for 10 years and switched to the apache and says its more comfortable
