At one time (1980) I did quite a lot of hunting with a scoped 10" T/C Contender. I remember packing it in a T/C nylon holster that held it somewhat vertical or slightly diagonal across my chest. But I do remember having to pull up pretty high to draw the weapon. It was a comfortable setup. Fast forward to 2006. I am working on a Ruger SRH in 454. So far it has the Wegand scope base and a three ring set plus a Burris 2x posilock EER scope. Last week I ordered a Micheals of Oregon bandolier type holster for it. Holster came in Friday and while I could probably hunt with it I am not really pleased with how it fits and rides.
I was hoping a cross draw shoulder holster might be my answer to packing this big revolver. While looking for a better shoulder rig I came across this holster;

It looks like and is made a lot more like the CCW holster that I carry. I pack a Glock in a Kramer horsehide belt scabbard on a renforced Galco gun belt every day. My CCW rig is so comfortable I often forget it is there. What do you handgun hunters think of this design?

This is the holster I used to use with my T/C Contender. It was really comfortable and easy to draw from. Before I sink the money in an unknown I am going to try one of these.

Thanks for the comments

Do a search on the Model 4100 – Ranger™ HuSH™ System. You can see on at:
http://www.bianchi-intl.com/product/Prod.php?TxtModelID=4100

I got one for my Blackhawk in 30 Carbine with 7.5 inch barrel. Can be worn across the chest or can put the holster on a belt. Can also get an optional flap to go over the holster if you like. So far, works well for me. They also make a model (the 4101) which is for scoped handguns. There are different sizes for different barrel lengths.
