Gentleman,
Any know a site on dating Savage shotguns? I have a model 28, 12 ga, mod choke, ser. #19590 that Id like to get some information on. Except for checkering on the grip and forearm its a very plain "workhorse" looking shotgun. The reciever dosent look like it was blued but it dosent look case hardened either. There is an interesting "pin" holding the magazine cap in place. I was watching "The Untouchables" with Kevin Costner the other night and noticed thier shotguns had the same type of pin. Was this common on older shotguns? Thanks for your help,
Ken

You have a Model 28A Standard Grade they were made from 1928 to 1931. It's worth approximately $150 to $170 in good condition.

If anyone knows where I can find some parts info and repair breakout diagrams I would appreciate it. Just got the gun from my dad and I want to take it apart and see why the shells keep falling out when pumping the gun.
