You're only talking .004 diff. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, after a couple of firings and resizing, they will stretch back out. Unless they are new brass what I would worry about is how many times they've already been reloaded.

.004", won't mean a blinking thing with that brass.
Stop and think: why would it and how could it ???

well why i ask is if the case doesn't fill the chamber [ max case size 1.912 ] an the firing pin moves the case foward the head won't be tight agaist the bolt face, an i couldn't help but wonder if there were any dangers before i go ahead an waste powder bullets or worse...
as for the age or how many times loaded ... not sure but the very clean..?

MrGee, the .22-250 headspaces on the shoulder so a slightly short neck will not cause a problem. The previous posters are correct that .004 is unimportant in neck length.

I've often found new bulk brass that was shorter than the minimum trim length. Your .22-250 brass will be fine. Just make sure the length is uniform.

well i will load up a few an see what happens, i hate to blow up an ole 788..
l'ldj ... i can only assume these were full lenght resized 'cause they go in my gun easily, so it was after i measured them an found them short, thing that would push the shoulder back some.. is what i meant by floating around in the chamber... would be nice if they did stretch some, they are nice an clean i hate to dump them i pick them up at really good price... like free
a couple of loads that gun likes.. is towards the hot side is what brought the red lite on... so i'll give it a go an see....

Not to worry, Gee. Any decent load, followed by a full length resize is going to place them in the proper length range. If I read your post correctly, you have not resized the cases yet? If not, do so and I would be that will stretch the brass far enough to make your calipers smile!
