I want to start by saying hello...this is my first post on this forum, which seems to have a whole lot of information.
I have an old Winchester 1300 XTR 12 Ga. with a full (fixed) choke. The barrel is 30 inches long and is Vent rib. It's a waterfowl gun and I'm thinking it's from the days before lead shot was illegal for ducks/geese.
I'm trying to find a 28" vent rib barrel for it with a mod choke or interchangeable chokes. I would prefer new, but could settle for used if it was in good condition. Any advice on where to look for this? I want to make sure a new barrel will fit that old gun. Thanks!
P.S. I'm also in need of a magazine cap with a swivel stud on it

Cabela's has had Winchester 1300 barrels in their catalogs quite often. I didn't check their internet site, but you can probably find then there, too.

cabela's has them listed
part number HE 21-0862-101
cost in my catalogue is 184.99 with winchokes( modified is shipped)
call ahlmans in morristown mn for the other parts. I also am certain you can use that barrel for steel shot if you have the choke opened up, around here that is a 40 dollar bill. shortening your barrel and installing tubes would run about the same cost as a new barrel.

thanks for the replys...The replacements from cabelas are an option, but an 870 Express could be had for around that price of almost $200. So, I guess what I'm asking is is there a good place to look for a used or cheap barrel that will fit my gun.

Just had a very good experience (my first) with Corson's Barrels.

Just had another highly satisfactory transaction with Don Corson. Two more, actually, since I sold him a barrel I had and bought a new pre-owned barrel. Definitely a resource to keep in mind.
