Hi everyone,
I would like to ask you something. Does the cocking handle stay forward, when the last shot was fired, or the gas pressure will push it to the rear/and the sear locks it back/?
(I know that the MAC-10 fires from the open-bolt position.)
Thanks,
Max

If you stop on the last shot it will stay open. If you pull the trigger on SA after the last shot it will close on an empty chamber and stay there. Generally this will also happen with FA unless you have some serious skills or luck, ie knowing when the last shot is going to be and letting off the trigger afterwards, at a fire rate somewhere in the area of 1100 rounds per minute in .45 or 1600 on a 9mm. Generally, open-bolt guns don't have last-shot holdopen catches on them.

so it almost always not stayes opened.

Is this true to an M249 SAW?
Thanks,
Max

Correct.

I'm not really sure if the M249 fires from open bolt or not, but beltfed guns don't really have last-shot holdopens either. Doing such a thing would be pretty complicated and kind of pointless.
