According to the Ruger website they still list them as available but several gun dealers I went to today said Ruger no longer makes this model. Anybody know the straight scoop on this? Bummer if its true. Fleiger

It is true, much to my regret. I was able to find one NIB on GunBroker, though. I am surprised at the relatively small number of .22 stainless revolvers currently offered.

Call Ruger & see if they have any left.
They do have some stocks of some of the discontinued models, and I'm hearing dealers are refusing to try to order any because they're out of production. You still might be able to find a new one.
Had some friends who went to two local large volume sporting goods stores & tried to order a pair of Bisley Vaqueros. Both told them Ruger doesn't make them anymore so they wouldn't even try to order them. The third store (in the same Sportman's Warehouse chain) in another town ordered a pair & had them delivered in two weeks.
Good luck.

I got the last one from my FFLs distributer a month back. They are still around on gunbroker and auction arms if you look.

My dealer checked two catalogs and couldn't find them. I was depressed to hear that as well. She got a Walther P22 instead.

Why do you think Ruger removed this model from their line up? Especially since so many folks won't buy S&W products due to MIM parts, internal locks, and just plain ol' payback for buckling under to the Clintonistas. Seems to me that model would be quite popular even on its own merits regardless of the S&W "situation." Everybody knows Ruger makes high quality, reliable, rock solid firearms at reasonable prices and for them not to have a .22 LR double action revolver in their line up to me is just plain puzzling. It was dropped along with other slow-moving models for 2005 during downsizing of the product lineup.
Ruger deemed it to not be selling well enough to keep in production.

That's too bad. I'd like to find a snub model or tapered bbl model. Wished that their sights were both windage and elevation adjustable. An 8 shot model w/ fully adjustable sights probably would have had sold better.

I think you mostly put your finger on it.
Those little SP .22s are really pretty clunky little guns & overly heavy for the caliber.
I'm not knocking them, please cancel the letter bombs.
I think if Ruger had rounded off some profiles & angles, reduced some weight out front, and made them look a little more graceful like the Smiths, along with adding adjustable sights, the guns would have sold better.

And maybe 9 shots would have been better.I wouldnt have minded the bulkyness or the weight if it would have been a 9 shot.

I personaly like the size and weight . Right between a S&W 63 and 617. An unlugged version would be nice though. FWIW, Fit , finish and action on mine was HORRIBLE and crude. It took allot of elbow grease to make it decient.

I found a NIB SP101 .22 at my local mom and pop shop. Was tagged at $375. I may RUN down and put it on layaway since it has been discontiuned.
