I got a really cheap scope for my .22 rifle. I sighted it in for 50 yards. When I shoot it at 100 yards, it shoots significantly low. Is this normal or is the scope just cheap junk?

Normal, the farther out you shoot the more it will drop. If you look at a ballistic chart it will give you the drop of different calibers at various yardages. A 22 LR is really a short range cartridge, 25 to 50 yards is about average. There are some people that shoot them quite a bit farther but the average shooter stays below 100 yards.

This is known as the trajectory of the bullet. It is dropping from the moment it leaves the gun barrel and travels in a parabolic curve. Nothing to do with the quality of the scope. Adjust the scope for the range you wish to shoot at.

Great thanks for the replies. In that case it was a pretty good $5 spent for the scope
