Ruger Security Six 4" Price Check

Looking at my first wheel gun. Saw a used Ruger .357 Security Six today at a local shop. They wanted $250 for it. Looked to be in good condition. 85% blue still on the gun. Seemed to cycle okay. I like the look and am thinking about taking the plunge. Is this a far price? Also waht are general thoughs on the Security six.

Darn fine handgun, but I'd try to get it for $185-225 (max) for the blued
model with 80% finish left on the gun. Oh! I forgot to mention that the
Ruger's are "proof tested" with loads that normally run 30% above norm.

A little on the high side, but I have a soft spot for the Ruger Security Six.
It was my first handgun and sadly I sold it. :(

I bought my SS when they discontinued them (20 years ago?), on sale at Turner's for $229 (still have the ad). If it found it's way out of my possession, I'd definitely be looking hard to replace it.

I just bought a Service Six, same gun with fixed sites, for $225 with nearly 100% blue on it, and nearly perfect grips.

I carried one for years in the military.
Great gun.
Built like a brick out house. :)

Bought my very clean SS 4" Security Six a year or so ago fo $250. Love every shot. Just love to hold and aim it, actually!
