I refuse to imagine a world that horrible.
(but in my nightmares, all I've got is a 4" 357, and it's the right one)

If I could choose only one, it would be one of the three below:
M24 4" .44spl
M25 4" .45LC
M28 4" .357
I'd lean towards the M24 or M25, but any one would be suitable.
And a Marlin 1894 in the same caliber to go with it... :)

Another vote for a S&W 57 .41; mine's in 6", but I confess 4" might be better.

A .357 RUGER GP 100 w/ 6" barrel that would do it for me.

My Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt or the 44 Blackhawk. Either would do, but I LIKE the 45 better. Both flat topped, and slicked up inside, 4 5/8" barreled.

If I was stuck with a 4" Model 19 or 586, or a 3.5" Model 27, I wouldn't be happy, but I'd find a way to cope. ;)

Some of these "What If" threads are thought provoking, some are illuminating, some actually become informative. This one is disgusting. One revolver? Does your mother know you have thoughts like this?

Right now it would be my S&W 13 3"
But if I can get this gun going it could be it, 4" S&W 586, that I half lugged, trimmed the square butt to a J frame style square butt and I just got it back from the smith after having it moonclipped. Now I would like to get it reblued.

I'm with Drifter....It would have to be my .44 Mountain Gun, except mine's black and doesn't have those extra holes in the barrel.

Toss up for me.
If ammo supply was no problem? A 4 or 5-inch .41 Magnum Model 57 would be fantastic.
Otherwise, a M686 .357, for compatability with .38 Special ammo.

Animal- Both the administration and the ownership of S&W that made that agreement are gone. How long you gonna bear a grudge?
As for the original question, I guess either a 3.5" 27 or a 4" Python.

Nope, they could revive the agreement at any moment if it's financially expedient for them to do so. It's going to be amusing (but saddening) if J. Kerry wins, the lawsuit is renewed, and S&W suddenly whips out the agreement for protection, which is in fact still in place, as they have every legal right to do. But it won't matter, because smoke and mirrors has fooled 99% of their buying public, and so a little more of same at that time on their part can do so once again.
I sure wish they WOULD repudiate it so that I could get my first smith, a 6" M610!

Good information for all to be aware of. You should start a thread about it... ...in the Legal & Political forum. :)
(Please, no more "agreement" discussion in this thread; we have reached our quota.)

Sorry Tamara ... didn't mean to "start something" in a friendly thread ... well maybe I did ... but I ain't gonna admit it.
HEY ! I've reconsidered my choice of revolvers since there's no stipulation that you have to already own it ... a GE Mini Gun ! :D

It would definitely, without question be a Ruger GP-100 .357 Magnum in satin stainless with the adjustable sights and half-shroud barrel (KGP-160). Absolutely. No doubt about it. I am posit-no, wait-make that a S&W 329PD in .44 Magnum. Yeah, that's the one. No two ways about-no, wait...

For most of the past few years that I've owned guns my answer to that question (and usually to the one gun, not one revolver, question as well) would have been a resounding 3" S&W 65LS. I love mine. There is just something about a 3" K-frame that is more than the sum of its qualities (and its qualities are quite positive), and the .357mag chambering is probably the most versatile out there.
However, the more I shoot my S&W 57 (6") the more I love both the gun and the caliber. Now, an N-frame is too big to be an only revolver (what happens if I ever manage to make the move to a carry state or somehow MD becomes one?). So, given my newfound love of the .41mag (I think I may like it better than my old favorite caliber, .357mag), I may need to pick myself up a medium framed .41mag (a Taurus Tracker) either in a 4" barrel or cutting it down to 3" so I can make a more informed answer. Heck, since I reload all I have to do is pick up some .41mag dies and I can get .41mag for about the price of the cheaper factory .38spl. I suspect that in a more suitable size to be an only revolver the .41mag would kick a bit more, but I also suspect that I will still love it. I think it would probably finally be the gun to beat out my S&W 65LS as my "one gun" or "one revolver" gun/revolver.

I guess it'd be my S&W 629 4".
You know, people talk about how it's harder to conceal than a .357. The other day I was at the range (which is also a gun shop) and compared my 4" 629 to a 4"686 (L-frame), 4" 66 (K-frame) and 4" GP-100. The 686 was no shorter length wise, no shorter height wise and about 1/8" narrower. The 66 and GP-100 was no shorter length wise, about 1/8" shorter height wise, and about 1/8" narrower. So, the .357s (except the J-frame or Sp-101) really aren't much more concealable than the 629.
It suprised me.

Mine would have to be my S&W Model 60-10 .357Mag. w. 3"bbl.
Small enough to carry and enough sights to be acurate! .38 for fun and .357 mags for social functions.

If You Could Have Only One... which would be your one and only revolver?
If I could only have one I'd pray to God for the tyranny to end! In the meantime I'd opt for a S&W 610.

4 inch model 66. In fact that's the only revolver I have at the moment. If carry was an option here in Australia then I would go with a 640.
