Could you or any of our readers tell me a little bit about this round.
How is the case made and what type of primers are used?
With the intro of the .17 HRM where does that stand up to the .17 CCM.

The 17CCM uses small pistol primers, Accurate Arms 1680 is about the only power that works well in it, Can't find my notes, but think it turns out around 2300fps? with 20gr's, works well out to 150 YD but beyond that it drops off bad. Case is/ was formed from the 5.5 Velo Dog. The first brass was machined from stock, later Fiocchi made it. Mite try Cooper Arms Stevenville MT, if I rember right.

TGS,

Kurt covered most everything. When I owned my Cooper rifle in .17ccm, the brass was pure junk! That was a few years back and situation may have improved... call Cooper Arms or better yet, contact Todd Kindler at (I think) www.woodchuckden.com - oh yeah, I have no real knowledge of the rimfire .17 cartridge.
