View Full Version : Bead or not to.
March 23, 2002, 07:19 AM
I have recently joined a clay league at work and have noticed that I do not know where my gun hits. I know where it hits on stationary paper at 30 yards, but not when I am shooting so I do not know where I am missing when I do. Is there help out there?
A little Poll:
Do you cover the clay with the bead, or do you cover the clay with the muzzle?

OK, Hube, let me take a crack at this...
My guns are set up to place the COP a little a above POA. This means I see the bird break. As to whether the bead is on or not, damfino! I'm looking at the target.
I'm vaguely aware of the rib and barrel below my line of sight, but I'm focussed on the target.
The exception is on crossers, where I have to lead quite a bit. Think of skeet shots from the middle posts, or a trap shot from Post 5 on a hard right screamer. Then I'm looking where I want to break the bird.
I suggest getting a coach, and maybe a gun fitter.

I suggest getting a coach, and maybe a gun fitter. Definately.
