Greetings, hopefully this subject hasn't been discussed already. I checked back a ways and didn't find it.
Some of you may be aware that Federal has now come out with a 'tactical slug' load. It has what appears to be a re-designed slug that looks kind of / sort of like a hydro-shock at quick glance, for lack of a better description. It also has a lower level of felt recoil. My department has bought them & I had the opportunity to shoot two boxes today.
Felt recoil is noticeably lower. Out of an 18" Vang-comped barrel they felt similar to the Fed tactical buck. Accuracy appears fine. Functioning was fine too, with no problems noted. They should definately work for any recoil sensitive students or friends.
If anyone has any experience with the load, I'd be interested in knowing if Fackler or others have published any ballistic gelatin tests or even better any street data on this load.
Check 6,
Erick
