I've got an old model .44 mag Ruger carbine...the tubular load version....I had wanted to put a scope on this piece but local gunsmith says no one makes mounts and rings for this particular rifle...

So, perhaps an Aimpoint or something similar? Anyone with suggestions...THANKS:confused:

Weaver makes a two-piece mount. Front is #68, Rear is #47. IIRC, the front one mounts on the barrel. I doubt Weaver will stop making the #47 as it's also the rear base for a Winchester Model 70! The #68 might be a little more rare. Find it Here. (http://www.brownells.com/Product/productDetail.asp?Spec=&ProductID=955010082&CategoryID=0)

Williams makes the streamlined Top Mount #11 Front and #12 Rear.

Redfield (now Weaver) makes a two-piece base set Model SR-DS or Item #512010. "DS" stands for DeerStalker I think. Find it Here. (http://www.brownells.com/Product/productDetail.asp?Spec=&ProductID=750512050&CategoryID=0)
